Fall Classes to begin the week of August 14, 2017

Children Class, 1st thru 5th grade - Mondays, 3:00 to 4:30 pm, 4 class sessions, $100.  Children classes are an introduction to the "fun"damentals of art where they will explore new mediums and begin projects each session with a focus on drawing, painting, and sculpture.  All materials supplied.

Watercolor, Beginners Level Adults - Thursday, 1:00 to 3:30 pm, 6 class sessions, $150.  Adult students learn the basics of watercolor and survey the various techniques of applying color.  Washes, wet on wet, masking and other methods of developing your knowledge of this exciting medium will be covered in class.

Watercolor, Advanced Level Adults - Tuesday, 9:00 to 11:30 am, 6 class sessions, $150.  Watercolor as a personal means of making a statement and is an ongoing learning process.  This class is meant for students with knowledge of the medium wanting to expand and refine their watercolor skills and advance their understanding of composition, methods and materials.

Drawing Fundamentals I and II for Adults - Wednesday, 9:00 to 11:30 am, 6 class sessions, $150.  These two levels of drawing classes make up a full 12 weeks of instruction.  Drawing I will be the first 6 week session followed by Drawing II the last 6 week session.  Drawing I provides training in the basic drawing techniques including line quality, light and shadow, positive and negative space and composition.  Through a series of demonstrations and exercises, students acquire a sound understanding of materials and methods and beautiful mark making.  This class can be taken without continuing with Drawing II.  Drawing II follows immediately behind the Drawing I class session and builds skill by exploring natural and man made subjects in greater depth with an emphasis on composition, perspective and introduction to color.

Acrylic Painting Adult - Thursday, 9:30 to 12 noon, 6 class sessions, $150.  Understand the specific properties of acrylics on canvas, boards, and paper.  Explore the properties of various types of paint and the mediums used to expand them for different applications.  Underpainting techniques and application tools will be introduced as you learn to develop your own images.  

Acrylic / Mixed Media, Intermediate Adult - Tuesday, 1:30 to 4:00 pm, 6 class sessions, $150.  Students explore a variety of water media, producing works on paper, canvas, and boards.  Get down to basics, deepen a practice or skill, or venture into new territory with new art materials or processes to help develop the artist within.

Private classes can also be scheduled as time permits.  $45 per 1 1/2 hour session.

Painting Class for K-5th Grades:  Mondays from 3-4 pm, September 11, 18, 25 ;  October 2, 9, 16, 30; November 6, 20, 27.                                                                                                          Tuesdays from 3-4 pm, September 5, 12, 19, 26; October 3, 10, 17, 31; November 7, 14, 21, 28.

Each class is $25.                                                                                                                                                                       

 BPE students may walk to the studio straight after school.  Students will create a work of art each class using acrylic paint and canvas.  Students do not have to take classes consectutively.  Each week we will have a different subject matter or theme to paint.  Aprons are provided.  Students are recommended to wear or bring old clothes that can get paint on them.

Adult Painting Class - Mondays 6:30 - 8:30 pm. Each class is $35.  This is a fun class where Jayne will teach how to create a painting from start to finish.  She uses the same techniques in which she creates paintings everyday.  There is a specific theme each week.

Open Studio - Tuesdays from 4:30 - 6:00 pm.  $30 each class.  September 5, 12, 19, 26;  October 3, 10, 17, 31;  November 7, 14, 21, 28.

Open Studio is a class where students come in to work on a painting of their choice.  This painting may take them one class to finish, or it may take several classes to complete.  Students will work individually in a group setting.  Jayne will come around to each student and spend several minutes helping and instructing each student.  Students must be able to paint by themselves while Jayne is working with other students.

BIRTHDAY or HOLIDAY PARTY:  $30 per painter for 2 hours for 6-16 people.  Whether for a child's birthday party or an office holiday party, celebrating at the studio is a fun experience.  For about an hour and a half we will create a painting of your choice, then have 30 minutes to party.  You may bring food and drink.  All painting supplies are included.  The party will create a painting in a fun, relaxing atmosphere and leave with a finished work of art.  No experience required.

Individual Private Lessons:
1 hr - $45; 2 hrs -$80

Group Private Lessons: 
1 hr - $30 per person; 2 hrs - $60 per person

Beginning Zentangle - Friday, August 11 at 6 pm.  $35 includes supplies.  Learn the basics of Zentangle in this fun, relaxing 2 hour class.

Dragonfly Tangle - Friday, September 1 at 6 pm.  $35 includes supplies.  I will create the background and sketch in the dragonfly before you even arrive, so all you'll have to do is tangle!!!  As usual, I'll walk you step-by-step through the tangles!  It will be ready to frame.

Zentangle Sea Creature Accordian Book - Six Week Class,  $150 includes supplies.

Wednesdays from 6 to 9 pm, September 6 - October 11

Learn multiple techniques while creating this fun sea creature themed book!  Learn to use brush markers to create the watercolor inspired background, plus other tips on different things you can do with brush markers.  Next we will learn different Zentangle patterns to fill in our sea creatures, while learning to draw the creatures!  We will use a paper marbling technique to create the pages for the cover of our book, then we will put everything together to create a hard bound accordion book!!
