Over the last 49 years, Soon-Bok Lee Sellers has been recognized for her contributions to Hoover and Jefferson County schools and to art in the state of Alabama. She has received numerous awards for excellence in the classroom and in the community, and for furthering art education at the city, county and state levels. She has been honored for many years of service and dedication to the promotion of quality of arts education for every student.  During her teaching career, Sellers helped produce a number of successful artists, including Daniel Moore, best known for his paintings of scenes from the University of Alabama football.   The gallery was dedicated to Soon-Bok Lee Sellers in February 2005.

The gallery in honor of Soon-Bok Lee Sellers hosts a variety of annual national art shows as well as shows by local artists.
